Rooms & rentals

• See the place in person (or on a live video call with someone you trust there) before paying anything.
• Never wire a deposit, send gift cards or pay through crypto to “hold” a room. Use traceable methods only after you have a signed agreement.
• Be cautious of rent that is far below the local market, or a “landlord” who is abroad and can't meet.
• Don't share passport, I-94 or SSN scans before you've verified the landlord and the property.
• Get the agreement in writing, even for a month-to-month room.

Jobs

• Real employers never ask you to pay for training, equipment, background checks or “processing”.
• Be wary of offers that don't require an interview, promise unusually high pay, or ask you to receive and forward money.
• For visa-related roles, verify the company on the USCIS H-1B Employer Data Hub and check reviews before sharing documents.
• Keep communication on email or phone you control; avoid moving everything to Telegram or WhatsApp with unknown recruiters.

Buying & selling

• Meet in a public place — many police stations have designated “safe exchange zones”. Bring a friend for large items or cars.
• Inspect and test before paying. For vehicles, check the VIN and title, and consider a pre-purchase inspection.
• Prefer cash or Zelle in person. Watch out for overpayment scams and fake payment confirmation screenshots.
• Never ship an item before payment has fully cleared.

Report a problem

Every ad has a Report link. You can also email support@apnausa.co with the ad link and what happened. Spam, adult content, scams and misleading ads are deleted and the poster is blocked from the site — see what's not allowed. If you've lost money, report it to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov and to your local police.

Posted an ad?

You can edit, extend or delete it anytime from the manage link in your confirmation email, or request a new link on the Manage page. Never share that link — anyone who has it can change your ad.
